Beginning the week of November 16th our civil works contractor will start establishing the site for the Surf Road Extension.
This will include erecting signage, setting out flags, marking out “no go zones” and bringing equipment on site.
Every effort will be made to maintain the current public access with minimal disruption.
In addition to the procedures and protocols adopted in our Work Safety Management plan, we will also adopt further safety measures as follows:
- The first boom gate will be manned by the civil contractor with radio contact to the site shed whilst truck movements are occurring. It will be locked at all times if the boom gate is unattended. Appropriate safety signage will be installed.
- The second boom gate will be unlocked whilst the contractor is on site and locked at the end of each day.
- The work site will be bunted at all times together with appropriate safety signage at approximately 20 meter intervals.
- The civil contractor will cease all works immediately in the event a horse rider or unauthorised person enters the site.
- The civil contractor must show adequate caution to horse riders and assist them by guiding them away from the work site in the event a rider inadvertently enters the site.
- The civil contractors hours of operation must not exceed beyond local government Bi laws. The contractor will operate between the hours of 7.00am and 6.00pm.
Construction is expected to be completed by December 21st.
